Bundi’s private Breede River camp is situated on the R43 between Worcester and Villiersdorp -just over an hour’s drive from Cape Town. With a large lawn area overlooking the Breede River set amongst the mountains it is a beautiful scene to behold. Our camp here provides the ideal setting for outdoor awareness to flourish. We provide accommodation and ablution facilities, catering and dining space, media room, stage area as well as facilities for the variety of camp activities offered.
Cabins: The camp provides accommodation for staff and facilitators in four wooden en-suite bungalows, built on stilts with wide verandas overlooking the Breede River. These sleep cabin 1) four, cabin 2) four, cabin 3) four and cabin 4) six people per cabin thus 18 people in total. The cabins are equipped with hot showers, flushing toilets and electricity.
Dormitories: Accommodation is provided for learners in four dormitories with bunk beds. The dorms are fitted with air conditioning. Two dorms sleep 33 learners and two dorms sleep 35 learners. In total they sleep 136. The dormitories have an ablution block across the path with six showers and six toilets.
Tents: 2 man tents with mattresses are provided for extra sleeping space or for groups who would like to obtain more of an outdoor camp feel. These are set up on the lawn area under the trees or on the camping facility across the river. Camping here usually forms part of the outdoor survivor day in the 5 day skills development type camp.
Deck: Bundi has a beautiful deck area overlooking the river which can seat 40 people. During school camps this area is usually occupied and reserved for staff. The space is also used for the facilitation of certain activities in smaller groups.
Kitchen & dining area: The learner’s dining area is made up of a service area as well as wooden benches overlooking the top lawn of the camp. Here we serve wholesome meals and cater for Halaal, Kosher and vegetarian. The space is also used as a working surface for writing or painting.
Media Room: The media room has seating for 60 people. The room is equipped with DSTV, WIFI, air- conditioning a projector screen and sound. The room is ideal for presentations, group briefings or watching a short DVD or movie clip.
Stage: The stage area provides the ideal location for the delivering of any drama activity. In front of the stage area a concrete floor base is surrounded by grass. The floor is used for dancing or offers seating options for learners or guests who would like to watch the stage. The entire stage, floor and grass area can be covered with an 18 x 20 m Bedouin tent for larger groups seating up to 250 people.
